Prayer for Peace

The world prayer for peace comes from the Vancouver Assembly of the World Council of Churches :

For peace in your country
For the victims of violence everywhere
For those struggling for peace and justice
For churches in conflict situations
For a world without war and violence

Lead me from death to life,
from falsehood to truth,
Lead me from despair to hope,
from fear to trust.
Lead me from hate to love,
from war to peace,
Let peace fill our beings,
our world and our universe. Amen.

This decade has been named as the decade to overcome violence. In the logo, the hands represent a heart, above a broken yellow earth.

Pointers for Prayer : Many people pause for a moment at 12 noon to pray the prayer for peace wherever they are at that time. Why not join them? Alternatively, you could incorporate this prayer as part of your daily pattern for prayer.
